CARY, N.C. (AP) - The wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz and Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips are among the headliners at an annual meeting for activists in North Carolina’s conservative movement.
Gov. Pat McCrory was scheduled to kick off the two-day Conservative Leadership Conference by speaking at a Friday breakfast at a Cary hotel. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest and other candidates for the Council of State also were expected to visit the conference.
Heidi Cruz was slated to speak at Saturday’s lunch session. Author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza is Friday night’s scheduled dinner keynote speaker.
The event is organized by the Raleigh-based Civitas Institute.
