NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a pedestrian in the New York hamlet of Deer Park has been struck by a car and has died.
Suffolk County police identified the man as 60-year-old Nicholas Correa, of Bay Shore. They say he was struck Friday night by a Cadillac as he was trying to cross the street at Commack Road and Grand Boulevard. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver’s car was impounded and police say the investigation is ongoing. There was no immediate report of charges filed in the case.
