Reporters are generally distinguished by their ability to grasp abstruse concepts and present them in clear language. But I’m at a loss here: After dinner with two founders of Facebook, the wildly popular “social networking” site — wildly popular, that is, among the under-28 crowd — I’m still not hep to the “gestalt” of the whole thing. Yes, it’s nice to have a place where you can keep up with what your friends are doing and photographing and videotaping and podcasting, but isn’t that kind of what e-mail and even IMs are for? That being the case, I’d love to hear — on this blog’s comment section, please — what it is that makes Facebook a “must have” for you. It’ll help as I review something in the not-too-distant future. Thanks.
