“We hope that he will address poverty throughout the U.S. and not just in Prestonsburg and Appalachia,” added Julie Paxton, a lawyer and former family judge.
“But the issue of poverty is certainly going to get more attention by doing the original Bobby Kennedy tour,” Mrs. Paxton said.
Other scheduled stops for Mr. Edwards‘ tour include West Helena, Ark.; Memphis, Tenn.; Cleveland; Youngstown, Ohio; and Pittsburgh. He also plans to visit a remote health care clinic in Wise, Va., and talk about economic opportunity for young people growing up in Whitesburg, Ky.
