When the pastor revealed the womans visit earlier that day, the man couldnt believe his ears. “Can it be? Does she live?”

Together, they went to the local family to ask about the woman they interviewed, and later that night, the two men drove to the big city to try to find her home.

“And then, as Christmas Day was born, this man and his wife, who had been separated through so many saddened Yuletides, were reunited,” wrote Mr. Schade. It was a miracle of the Christmas season.

Mr. Schade, a graduate of Hope College and New Brunswick Theological Seminary, died in 1989 after a distinguished career in Christian leadership. I couldn’t find anyone from his alma maters who had further details about his story.

But since Readers Digest labeled it as “Drama in Real Life,” I offer it as a reminder that love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
