President Obama said Friday he has reached out to the Boston-area police officer whom he said said acted “stupidly” when he arrested a black Harvard professor trying to get into his home.
“As I said before Sgt. [James] Crowely is an outstanding police officer and a good man,” the president said. “The phone call confirmed that. I am aware I gave the impression my words maligned Sgt. Crowley.”
