A Southeast D.C. woman has been found guilty of killing her four daughters.

D.C. Superior Court Judge Frederick H. Weisberg convicted Banita Jacks on four counts of felony murder, three counts of premeditated first-degree murder and other charges. She was acquitted of one count of premeditated first-degree murder in the death of her oldest child, Brittany.

Miss Jacks was arrested in January 2008 after U.S. Marshals found her daughters’ decaying bodies in the second level of her house while serving an eviction order.

She was found mentally fit to stand trial in January. Miss Jacks waived her right to a jury trial. Judge Weisberg decided the case himself after a two-week trial.
