New in Maryland: The Ridings at Upper Marlboro

K. Hovnanian Homes is building 139 single-family homes on quarter-acre to half-acre home sites at the Ridings at Upper Marlboro in Upper Marlboro, a planned community with walking trails located near equestrian and fitness trails, shopping, dining and entertainment.

K. Hovnanian is offering $20,000 in closing-cost assistance to buyers who use the preferred mortgage and title companies.

Each home in this Prince George’s County community will include a stone front, low-maintenance vinyl siding, professional landscaping, a sodded lawn and a two-car garage.

Inside, all six models feature four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, hardwood flooring in the foyer, 9-foot ceilings on the main level, crown and chair-rail moldings, a gas fireplace, 42-inch oak raised-panel cabinets and Corian counters in the kitchen, ceramic tile flooring in the baths, a luxury master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower, and dual-zone gas heat and central air conditioning.

The homes have 2,148 to 3,465 finished square feet, with base prices from $369,990 to $449,990. Homeowner association fees are $31 per month.

The New York model, with 3,465 square feet, is priced from $434,990. This home features a front porch leading into a two-story foyer with French doors opening into a library with a bay window.

The main level has front and rear staircases, a formal living room, a formal dining room and an open floor plan with a family room, breakfast area and center-island kitchen. This level also has a powder room and laundry room.

Upstairs, the master suite has a separate sitting room, two walk-in closets and a luxury bath. Three more bedrooms and a second full bath complete this level.

Options include finished lower levels, sunrooms, morning rooms, conservatories, bay windows, extra bathrooms and tray ceilings.
