How did you get started in real estate? I started working for a national residential mortgage lender when I was at university. I followed that with a 16-year career in residential home lending, and here I am in the District and still loving the real estate field. I’ve always been interested in real estate and collect real estate publications when I’m traveling domestically as well as abroad.

How long have you been with the current company? Since February.

Licenses and designations: Licensed in the District and Virginia.

Associations: Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: My involvement with the Friends of Francis Field has helped win a newly designed park for our West End neighborhood. We finally have new, green grass for the first time in years, benches and a water fountain and can enjoy being outside right in our own neighborhood. Countless meetings and tenacious work by a number of neighbors contributed to this great success! It was a real team effort.

What is your area of specialty: I work with a number of World Bank/international clients. It’s a lot of fun working with buyers who are new to the District and all that it offers. Neighborhood-wise, I specialize in West End/Logan/Dupont and the surrounding areas.

Highest-priced home sold: $957,000

Most memorable house: I don’t think I’ve had any one particular property stand out just yet - although I’ve sold a few I wouldn’t mind living in myself!

Worst experience buying or selling a house: My first house was a newly constructed home in Charlotte, N.C. I wasn’t able to check on its progress daily, but almost daily. One day I passed by for a “surprise inspection” to find different windows from what the plans specified had been installed. After a very nice talking to, I managed to get the builders to replace the incorrect windows with the ones they had promised per plans and specs - a lesson learned to keep your eyes open!

Last book read: “Leap of Faith: Memoirs of an Unexpected Life” by Queen Noor

Last movie seen: “The Ghost Writer”

What kind of car do you drive? Audi A4

Describe your personal dream house: Oh, I only get one? This is such a tough question! Lots of windows and direct sun, preferably a water view on one side and some hustle and bustle on the other side. I grew up on a farm and thus love the grass under my feet, stars at night and privacy that acreage provides. However, I do relish all the conveniences, bells and whistles that come with luxury and location. How about a pied a terre in the 6th arrondissement in Paris and a summer house on Nantucket? Those are my dream houses.
