Matthew Stafford threw for two scores in the first quarter to give Detroit one of its three-touchdown leads. But the Vikings, playing for pride, nearly rallied from a 31-14 halftime deficit.

The Jets scored 28 points in the first half , while the Chiefs managed just 4 yards in the first two quarters.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Matt Ryan threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to rookie Julio Jones, and Atlanta erased a 16-point deficit to defeat Carolina.

Ryan threw for 320 yards and tied a career high with four touchdowns passing. The Falcons avoided a costly loss to stay alive in the NFC wild card race.

MIAMI — Philadelphia forced three turnovers and scored four times during a nine-minute span in the second quarter, and racked up nine sacks to beat Miami.

Michael Vick, back after missing three games with broken ribs, threw for 208 yards and a touchdown. LeSean McCoy scored two touchdowns for the Eagles to hike his season total to 17.

Chargers 37, Bills 10

SAN DIEGO — Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes, two to Antonio Gates, and San Diego throttled Buffalo.
