The Redskins will consider promoting sixth-round rookie running back Evan Royster from the practice squad, Shanahan said.

Moss on Monday had three pins inserted in his fractured left hand near his index finger, Shanahan said. He ranks second on the team in receptions (25) and third in receiving yards (301).

“That’s big because Santana has been one of our playmakers,” Beck said. “We’ve got some young guys at wide receiver that have got to step up for us and make plays.”

Anthony Armstrong and rookie Niles Paul replaced Moss as the ‘X’ receiver in Sunday’s game. Paul had 25 yards on two catches, the first of his career.

“He’s played a few plays, and when he’s played he’s taken advantage of it,” Shanahan said.
