ST. LOUIS | The St. Louis Rams could be without injured running back Steven Jackson for next Monday night’s game against the New York Giants, and quarterback Sam Bradford is expected to play despite a bruised index finger.
Those weren’t the only injuries the Rams suffered in their 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Cornerback Ron Bartell has a fractured neck and could be out for the season, and wide receiver Danny Amendola dislocated his left elbow.
Chiefs safety Berry has torn ACL
KANSAS CITY, MO. | A person familiar with the situation says Chiefs safety Eric Berry has a torn ACL in his left knee and is done for the year.
The second-year strong safety made the Pro Bowl last year and was being counted on heavily by the defending AFC West champions.
Cowboys: Loss not just Romo’s fault
IRVING, TEXAS | Although Tony Romo said “I cost us a football game,” his teammates on the Dallas Cowboys insist that’s not the case.
Several players said Monday the Cowboys wouldn’t have been in position to beat the New York Jets on Sunday night if not for Romo’s stellar play during the first 50 minutes, and that other mistakes contributed to Dallas letting a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead turn into a 27-24 loss.
Still, Romo’s flubs a fumble 3 yards from the end zone and an interception that set up the winning field goal stand out.
