Virginia Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II has filed a lawsuit against Tareq Salahi, who infamously crashed a White House state dinner in 2009 with his estranged wife, claiming violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.

Mr. Salahi, the sole officer and director of Virginia Wine Tourism Inc. and manager of Celebration Entertainment Productions LLC, offers wine tours in the Northern Virginia region through a website called VirginiaWineTour.com.

But the company did not deliver tours as promised and did not provide refunds for canceled tours, Mr. Cuccinelli said in court papers.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Fauquier County Circuit Court, and requests that the court enjoin VirginiaWineTour.com from violating the state’s consumer protection act and that the money obtained from customers in violation of the law be returned. It also seeks civil penalties of up to $2,500 for each violation of the act.
