Mr. Archuleta is releasing the album through Shadow Mountain Records, a small label owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, proof that he’s largely done with pop music and all the mainstream record companies that come with it. He’s doing what he’s always done best — singing other people’s songs — and he’s marketing his music to the people who always loved him the most, targeting churchgoers, adult contemporary fans and empty nesters who see their children in his boyish grin.
