Marine faces court-martial over urination video

The Marine Corps announced Friday it will hold a special court-martial next week for a staff sergeant accused of dereliction of duty during an incident in July 2011 in which Marines were videotaped urinating on Taliban corpses in Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Joseph W. Chamblin also is accused of failing to properly supervise junior Marines and failing to stop and report the misconduct of junior Marines, among other charges.

The Marine Corps said there are other pending cases related to the incident.

In the video, four Marines urinated on three corpses. One is heard saying, “Have a good day buddy!”

The video was widely viewed on YouTube, and sparked outrage among Afghans.
