Prince George’s County felon escapes from inmate work duty

A man sentenced to 10 years in prison for manslaughter and handgun violations escaped from a prison road crew on Monday morning.

Conrad Thames, 27, was last seen working with a trash pickup crew on MD 197 in Prince George's County. According to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, he was wearing a fluorescent road crew vest over a white T-shirt and jeans.

Erin Julius, spokesperson for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, said officers do not think Thames has any weapons.

Thames is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 162 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police are assisting in the search. Anyone with information about Thames should call 911.
