Mark May, the former Washington Redskins offensive tackle who was a founding member of "The Hogs," has joined the concussion lawsuits against the NFL.
May is among 49 plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Two hundred and five ex-Redskins are part of the 90 concussion-related lawsuits, according to a review of each one by The Washington Times.
May started 115 games for the Redskins from 1981-89, played on two Super Bowl teams and was named one of the 70 Greatest Redskins. Eleven members of that group are part of the lawsuits, along with three members of the Redskins' Ring of Fame.
The 53-year-old May, inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005, works as a college football analyst for ESPN. He's represented by Gene Locks and Craig Mitnick, whose lengthy list of concussion clients includes former Redskins quarterback Mark Rypien.
The lawsuit said May "suffers from various neurological conditions and symptoms related to multiple head traumas," identical language used for each plaintiff.
May didn't immediately return a call for comment Thursday.
