Prince George's County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred overnight in Fairmont Heights.
One man was shot and received injuries that are not life threatening, police said.
Officers were called to the 5600 block of Kolb Street around 11:40 p.m. for a report of a sound of gunshots, county police spokesman Cpl. Larry Johnson said.
“At some point there was a confrontation between the suspect and the officer,” Cpl. Johnson said.
The circumstances that led up to the shooting remain under investigation and police have not said whether the man who was shot had a weapon.
