LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Dusting off an old campaign slogan for 2012

Story Topics

Seeing President Obama launch his 2012 presidential bid to a half-empty arena made it clear that he needs a new campaign slogan (“Obama’s ‘official’ campaign launches Saturday,” Web, May 3).

Mr. Obama’s campaign should resurrect an old, Depression-era theme of promising a chicken in every pot and a new car in every garage. To freshen up that theme and bring it into the modern era of “green” energy, it should be “A solar panel on every car and a windmill for every mud hut.”
