New York Mayor Bloomberg endorses Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) — New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is endorsing President Obama for re-election, citing his leadership on climate change.

Mr. Bloomberg says in an online opinion piece that Hurricane Sandy made the stakes of Tuesday's presidential election even clearer. He says that the climate is changing and that Mr. Obama has taken major steps in the right direction.

An independent and former Republican, Mr. Bloomberg says GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has reversed course on a number of positions.
