Five people suffered minor injuries Wednesday in a crash in the District involving a Metrobus.

A Dodge Durango rear-ended a bus on the U6 line at about 6:55 a.m. on the 3700 block of Hayes Street Northeast. Four passengers were riding the bus, and one man requested an ambulance, Metro spokeswoman Caroline Lukas said. No one in the Durango was injured, she said.

D.C. police Officer Billy Allen said no life-threatening injuries were reported.

The one-way street was closed for an hour, but traffic in the area was not affected.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department and Metro, D.C. Battalion Fire Chief Brian Lee said.
