A Washington state couple were left stunned after their server handed them a bill with a $4 discount for their well-behaved children.
Laura King, her husband their three children, ages 2, 3 and 8, feasted on pizza and pasta at the Italian eatery Sogno di Vino on Friday near their home in Kingston, Wash.
"They were just being their normal selves," Mrs. King told Today.com of her youngsters. "Our server came to our table and just really thanked us for having exceptionally behaved children."
The server then brought ice cream out for the kids that turned out to be on the house. When the check came, there was a $4 discount for "well-behaved kids."
"A pleasant surprise after a lovely meal," Mrs. King wrote on her Wordpress blog after an image of the receipt was posted on Reddit and quickly went viral.
The owner of the restaurant, Rob Scott, said he often offers free desserts to families with well-mannered children, yet he had never put the discount on the receipt before, The Daily Mail reports.
