A man was fatally stabbed Thursday afternoon in Southeast D.C. near the Good Hope Marketplace, marking the city’s first homicide of the year.
Police on Friday identified the victim as 40-year-old Raasheem Jamal Rich of Northeast.
Officers were searching for two suspects in the stabbing, both of whom were described as men wearing a yellow reflective work vests, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The stabbing happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast. The man, whose identity has not been released but who was described as approximately 40 years old, was stabbed in the stomach and chest, according to police.
