Jimi Hendrix takes No. 2 on Billboard with new album
Even dead, guitarist Jimi Hendrix rocks the music charts.
His final studio album, “People, Hell & Angels,” was just released last week and has already hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. That’s the highest the guitarist has hit on this list since 1969, just months before he died.
This isn’t the first collection of Mr. Hendrix music to be released since his death — but “First Rays of the New Rising Sun,” released in 1997, only hit 49 on music charts in America, The Telegraph reports.
The new album is a collaboration of 1969 jam sessions between Mr. Hendrix and other musicians, like Billy Cox and Buddy Miles, as The Telegraph reports.
Many rate Mr. Hendrix — as his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame biography claims — “arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music.”
