COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Hundreds of people along with firefighters, police officer and veterans lined streets near Columbus to honor members of a unit that lost 11 Marines in a roadside bomb blast in Iraq a decade ago.
Close to 150 Marines from the Lima company came for the reunion Saturday that included a private memorial service.
Many of those lining the streets waved flags and held signs of support as three buses carrying the Marines and the families of those who died passed by on their way to the reunion.
Shawn Delgado, who lives near Columbus and was a gunnery sergeant with Lima company, told the Columbus Dispatch that it was overwhelming to see how much support they still have.
