WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - UConn basketball coach Kevin Ollie has donated $50,000 to fund the building of a basketball court designed to be used by children with disabilities.

The court, developed by an organization called Bankshot, is being set up as part of the renovations to a larger inclusive playground, Jonathan’s Dream, in West Hartford,.

It will have nine stations with baskets that can be used by children in wheel chairs or with other disabilities. Kids go from station to station, attempting shots off angled, curved and non-conventionally configured brightly colored backboards.

Ollie says the court in West Hartford is the first of many “Kevin Kourts” he plans to help build across the state.

The inclusive playground was built in 1996 to honor Jonathan Barzach, a child who died from spinal muscular atrophy.
