LE MARS, Iowa (AP) - The Le Mars City Council has approved a rail easement agreement that allows for the construction of a rail connecting a planned ethanol facility to the city railroad tracks.
The Le Mars Daily Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1CPFcSA ) reports the agreement with Le Mars Public Storage Inc. was approved Tuesday. The council approved compensation for the easement in the form of a $300,000 loan to the storage company.
The cost of the facility is estimated at $3.1 million. The facility could include a 300,000-gallon storage tank, rail access and equipment to transfer shipments from one mode of transportation to another.
