PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The price of a gallon of regular gas has ticked down 2 cents in Rhode Island, to an average of $2.78.
AAA Northeast says its weekly survey released on Monday found the first decrease in gas prices in the Ocean State since March.
The price in Rhode Island is still a penny more than the national average of $2.77 per gallon.
But it’s also 97 cents less than at this time last year in Rhode Island when the price of gas was 35 percent higher, at $3.75 per gallon.
