CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) - Chelmsford police say the body of a woman has been found in a thickly wooded area, and a preliminary investigation indicates it could be a missing Lowell woman.
The body was found Monday afternoon in an area between a restaurant and the parking of the Environmental Protection Agency facility in Chelmsford. There were no obvious signs of foul play.
A 67-year-old Lowell woman was reported missing on Oct. 25, triggering a search by several law enforcement agencies. Lowell police were called to the scene Monday to help with the identification.
Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
