LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Windstream has sold its data center business to cloud company TierPoint for $575 million.
The Little Rock-based company announced the sale Monday to Missouri-based TierPoint.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1RkPewX ) that as part as the all-cash sale, Windstream will partner with TierPoint so the companies can do business with each other’s prospective customers through referrals.
The Arkansas company says the deal will allow it to focus on its telecom services while TierPoint oversees its data center business.
Windstream president and CEO Tony Thomas said in a statement Monday that he expects the divested data center business to continue growing under TierPoint’s leadership.
