UNITY, Maine (AP) - The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association will invite stewards of woodlots to learn how to cut and harvest wood in an ecologically sound tradition.
MOFGA is holding its Low-Impact Forestry Workshop in Unity from Nov. 19 to 22. Participants will first learn low-impact forestry principals from the Maine Forest Service and then choose a specialty such as draft animal logging, mechanical logging or chain saw safety.
The organization will host participants at its Common Ground Education Center in Unity for the duration of the event. The group’s kitchen will provide meals.
