NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a man who was stabbed on the street in Manhattan and then got on the subway after the attack has died.
The New York Police Department says the 53-year-old victim was stabbed once in the torso outside of a subway station at 116th Street and Lenox Avenue around 9 p.m.
They say the man, whose name was not immediately released, then boarded a No. 2 subway train and rode it one stop.
A police spokesman says the man was taken from that subway stop at 110th Street to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Metropolitan Transpiration Authority, which operates the city subway system, says some trains are being rerouted around the station.
Police say they are continuing to investigate.
