BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Construction of the University at Buffalo’s new medical school is moving along.

UB President Satish Tripathi and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown plan to be on hand Tuesday as construction workers raise one of the final steel beams.

The $375 million Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is going up on Buffalo’s growing medical campus downtown. The eight-story facility is expected to open next year.

UB’s medical school currently is located on its south campus.
