DETROIT (AP) - A fresco that’s part of a new public art program is coming to Cobo Center in Detroit.
A full-scale cartoon drawing of Detroit native Hubert Massey’s 30-foot by 30-foot interpretation of positive regional stories can be seen during a fundraiser Thursday at the downtown convention center.
Work on the fresco is to start next spring. It is expected to share Detroit’s culture, history and accomplishments with the nearly 1.4 million annual visitors to Cobo Center.
Cobo Art and the fresco project are funded through the new Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority Art Foundation.
