The first results of the fan voting for the NBA All-Star Game were released Thursday. If Washington Wizards point guard John Wall wants to make his fourth consecutive appearance at the game, he’ll need to pick up a lot more votes.
Wall was seventh among Eastern Conference guards. Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal was not among the top 10. There are only 12 spots on the roster.
Wall was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December after averaging 24.5 points and 10.7 assists per game. For the season, Wall is averaging 23.5 points and 10 assists per game. He also has groused about the Wizards’ lack of national television exposure, something that influences all-star voting.
The league changed the voting format this season. The fan vote will account for 50 percent of the results. The media and players will each be 25 percent of the vote.
