YORK, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a South Carolina county detention center inmate faces additional charges after spitting in an officer’s face and threatening an officer after an altercation.
The Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2qFv9dg ) that 39-year-old Kenneth Huffstetler was being held at the York County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond. A report from the York County Sheriff’s Office says when Huffstetler was given medication and a pen to sign for the medicine on May 27, he held the pen against his neck and threatened to kill himself.
An officer grabbed Huffstetler’s arm and they fell to the floor. Huffstetler spit in another officer’s face and told him he would blow him up.
Huffstetler has since been charged with throwing bodily fluids and threatening the life of a public employee.
