The Washington Redskins double-dipped at defensive tackle in the 2018 NFL Draft when they selected Virginia Tech DT Tim Settle in the fifth round, No. 163 overall, Saturday afternoon.

The Redskins used their first-round pick, No. 13 overall, on Alabama defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne.

Settle, who hails from Manassas, Virginia, was measured at 6-foot-3, 329 pounds at the scouting combine. In 23 career games for the Hokies, he made 53 tackles, 19.5 of them for losses. He added four sacks and a pass deflection in 2017.

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein graded Settle as a second- or third-round talent with “a Pro Bowl ceiling.”

“Settle has rare gifts for a big man with good mass, play strength, quickness, and agility,” Zierlein wrote.
