Location: Washington National Cathedral is located at Massachusetts and Wisconsin avenues in Northwest Washington.

Hours: Guided tours run from April through October at 2 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of the month. From May through July, they also are offered at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month. Tours meet at the west end docent’s station.

Parking: Some street parking is available nearby.

Cost: $5 per person.

Note: Visitors also can pick up a flier at the docent’s station and take a self-guided tour. The guided tour probably is for school-age children and older, as it features a lengthy talk and slide show. The cathedral sometimes offers children’s gargoyle tours that would be appropriate for younger children. Bring binoculars and wear comfortable shoes because the tour also features some stair-climbing.
