Seen and heard last night at MCI Center:
SHINING MOMENT — Kimberly Jordan, the niece of Wizards coach Eddie Jordan, delivered a stirring version of the national anthem before the game. It was easily the best of the 40 renditions at MCI this season.
BROWN DAY-TO-DAY — Wizards forward Kwame Brown missed his second game in a row with a sore left foot.
Brown said he has been told he’s day-to-day for the rest of the season and that “they don’t want me doing anything.” But he’s not ruling himself out for the final two games.
“It’s still fun,” Brown said. “I was going to use the rest of the games to build momentum, which you want to take into the summer. Gilbert [Arenas] and Larry [Hughes] and all of those guys that are playing are going to go out and try and use the rest of the games to play as hard as they can because the summer is big for everybody. We don’t know what is going to happen, but if you want to stay on the team you want to answer some questions and leave a lasting impression.”
FIELD TRIP — Eddie Jordan and Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas are talking about attending a potential first-round matchup between New Jersey and New York. (The Nets are locked into the second spot, but the Knicks’ positioning is uncertain.)
Why? So Arenas can get a close-up look at New Jersey’s Jason Kidd and New York’s Stephon Marbury.
“When we go we’re just going to talk about how the game is being played, the level of intensity of a playoff game close up,” Jordan said. “We’ll talk about how you can get better at the point guard position.”
