Seen and heard last night at the Palace at Auburn Hills (Mich.):

ROLL OUT — Rasheed Wallace, who began his career with the Bullets in 1996, had some advice for Wizards forward Kwame Brown.

“He’s definitely gotten better,” Wallace said, “but in my opinion he needs to get … out of D.C. You can put that on the record. It’s not working out for him. In my opinion he’s the best post-up player they have, no question.

“Overall, I think he can play,” said Wallace, whom Washington traded away one year after making him the fourth pick overall in 1996. “In my opinion if Kwame gets out of D.C. he’ll be a nice player. He’s got good weight on him, nice size. I like his drive. I think he’ll be a good player.”

Wallace said he didn’t want to paint a bad picture about the organization, especially since “I just got there and was oohing and ahhing about just being in the league. But that kid will be better in another spot where he can get his feet wet. But he was in a situation where there was no room for error, and it’s still like that.”

The Wizards could sign Brown to an extension this summer. However, according to team sources, that might be a long shot.

STILL ON THE MEND — Brown traveled with the Wizards but did not dress, missing his third consecutive game with a sore left foot. There is a chance Brown might be done for the season, which ends tomorrow.

The same could be true for Jerry Stackhouse, who did not travel with the team, missing his second straight game with a sore right ankle.
