Esther Bomstein Baskin, 88, retired business owner

Esther Blankman Bomstein Baskin died April 14 after a brief illness in Boca Raton, Fla. She was 88.

The second daughter of Julius and Fannie Blankman, Mrs. Baskin was born in Baltimore on May 16, 1915.

In October 1935, she was married to Solomon Bomstein of Baltimore. They had two children, Eileen Susan Bomstein and Howard Jay Saul Bomstein. Mr. Bomstein died in November 1948.

In 1957, Mrs. Baskin opened a beauty shop in Hyattsville, which she owned and operated until 1969.

She married Emanuel Baskin in 1972 and retired in Florida.

She is survived by her daughter Eileen and her husband David Gottlieb of Delray Beach, Fla., and their children Rory, Noah Rubin and Andy; her son Howard and his wife Polly of Washington, D.C., and their children Schafer, Eleanor and Caroline; as well as nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her brother-in-law Walter Wolman.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Adelphi.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the home of Howard and Polly Bomstein, 1843 Sudbury Lane NW, Washington, D.C.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family at Georgetown University, or to a charity of your choice.
