Carlisle celebrates 30th anniversary

“Spring Carlisle 2004” continues at the fairgrounds through Sunday in Carlisle, Pa. The 30th-anniversary season is expected to draw at least 120,000 enthusiasts to events including a swap meet and car corral, plus sales of vehicle parts.

Packard swap meetset in Frederick

An all-Packard indoor swap meet will be held April 30-May 1 at the Frederick Fairgrounds in Maryland.

The ninth annual event includes a car show on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a banquet at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call Bill Johnson at 301/384-4433.

Mustang Club plans road cruise, car show

The Mustang Club of the National Capital Region is sponsoring a road cruise May 1 and a car show May 2 at the Rockville campus of Montgomery College. Cruisers to host Brandywine show

The Tri-County Cruisers will hold a car show May 1 at Brandywine Lions Park in Prince George’s County.

The show is being held in conjunction with a Lions Club crafts fair that weekend.

Vehicles including rods, customs, antiques, muscle cars and trucks from 1978 or earlier are welcome to the park at Route 301 and Cherry Tree Crossing Road in Brandywine.

In addition to competition, the day offers food, music, cash prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Bikers to ride for a good cause

Bikers With a Heart Foundation is planning a fund-raising ride May 2 through three Southern Maryland counties to benefit the Down/Injured Bikers Fund and raise awareness of motorcyclists on public roads and highways.

The police-escorted ride, called “Thunderheart I,” will begin from All American Harley-Davidson at 27967 Baptist Church Road in Mechanicsville, Md., at 12:30 p.m.

Those interested in participating or just giving a tax-deductible donation can register between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Chrysler owners asked to Maryland show

The Chrysler Product Owners Club is planning a car show at a Maryland dealership on May 8.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is open to all vehicles made by Chrysler Corp. and related manufacturers. The day will include trophies, showroom tours and refreshments. Ourisman’s Chrysler-Jeep is located at 12430 Auto Drive in Clarksville. Admission is free.

Orphan ’mini-meet’ May 15 in Alexandria

Orphans of Alexandria is planning a “mini-meet” for May 15 at the Lyceum.

The show is called a mini-meet because it will be held in the parking lot of the community history museum in Alexandria and features only about 15 cars. It will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Owners are asked to bring photos, ads and other memorabilia about their vehicle for display in their space.

Fairfax plans Old Town show

The City of Fairfax will hold its “Antique Car Show” May 15 in Old Town.

Registration, which begins at 9 a.m., is open to antiques, classics, modifieds and rods at least 25 years old. Judging lasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with trophies awarded for best of show, mayor’s choice and people’s choice, among other categories.

The show is at City Hall, 10455 Armstrong St., Fairfax. The day will include live music, food and refreshments.

Cadillac, LaSalle show on April 12

Capitol Cadillac will host the annual spring Cadillac LaSalle show at the Greenbelt, Md., dealership on April 12. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with awards presented at 3 p.m. The show is open to all Cadillacs and LaSalles and dash plaques and gifts will be presented to all registrants.

Times show slated for Sept. 5 this year

The 16th Out of the Past Review, hosted by The Washington Times, will be held this year on Sept. 5 at the Spring Hill Recreation Center in McLean.

The annual show, at no charge to the public, is open only to the hundreds of antique vehicles that have appeared in Vern Parker’s “Out of the Past” column in the AutoWeekend section. The show begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
