Due to an editing error, The Washington Times in yesterday’s editions incorrectly characterized the losses suffered by the U.S. cattle industry due to mad cow disease. The disease cost the industry access to foreign markets worth $3.8 billion last year, some of which are still closed to U.S. beef.
