Seen and heard yesterday at MCI Center:

WHITNEY’S SWAN SONG — Veteran guard Chris Whitney may not play another game for the Wizards. Whitney was placed on the injured list with a foot injury before the game and won’t be eligible to return this season.

BLASTS FROM THE PAST — The Wizards paid tribute to some of the players from the past, presenting video montages of career highlights for the players who were in attendance and sitting midcourt.

That group included Gheorghe Muresan (1993-98), Harvey Grant (1988-93, 1996-98), Kevin Grevey (1975-83), Mike Riordan (1971-77) and Darrell Walker (1987-91).
