ST. LOUIS — The new version on Busch Stadium has been open for two years now, but they still haven’t done anything on the site of the old Busch. A huge hole remains behind left field — it looks like a meteorite fell out of the sky and left a big crater behind.
The original plan was to build a “ballpark village” in the area, with office buildings and retail shops, but the lead development company behind the project pulled out last month and now city officials are left scrambling. They still plan to put something there, but until that happens, it’s a huge eyesore.
