DENVER (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have placed catcher Carlos Ruiz on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique muscle in his right side.
Ruiz was injured in the Phillies’ 10-3 loss at Colorado on Friday.
The Phillies called up catcher Lou Marson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Ruiz’s roster spot.
Chris Coste started behind the plate for Philadelphia at Coors Field on Saturday night.
