The following recall has been announced because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems:


Flanigan Farms is recalling Flanigan Farms branded pistachios. The company said it has received no reports of illness. The recalled products were distributed to retail stores in California, Nevada and Arizona. For more information, consumers can call 800 252-0228.

The recall involves:

_ Flanigan Farms Pistachio Nuts, Dry Roasted; 2 ounce; sell by date: 9-1-08 thru 3-24-10; UPC 74628 04528-6.

_ Flanigan Farms Pistachio Nuts, Special Shelled; 2 ounce; sell by date: sell by date: 02-17-10; UPC 74628 02017-7.
