VATICAN CITY (AP) - Pope Benedict XVI is celebrating Easter Sunday Mass in a packed St. Peter’s Square.

Wearing golden vestments, Benedict processed into the square, blessing the crowd as a choir sang hymns.

Benedict is presiding over the joyous Mass that commemorates Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

On Saturday night, Benedict baptized five converts during the three-hour-long Easter vigil. Benedict sounded hoarse at the end of the service, but has otherwise held up well in the busy Holy Week ceremonies.
