OMAHA, NEB. (AP) - Authorities plan to charge a Nebraska couple with stealing a truck they say the couple used to return home after spending time the South Dakota wilderness.

Pennington County (S.D.) Sheriff’s Lt. Marty Graves said Wednesday that authorities are seeking arrest warrants for Matthew and Rowena Schade (SHADE) in the theft of a truck in Silver City, S.D. The warrants are expected to be issued within days.

The Schades fled Creighton, Neb., after being questioned March 20 about domestic-abuse allegations. Both are charged with probation violations and they turned themselves in to Nebraska authorities on April 6.

The truck was found in Nebraska a few days before the Schades surrendered. One of the family’s vehicles was abandoned near Silver City.
