PHOENIX (AP) - The pilot of a small plane has made an emergency landing on a playground at a north Phoenix elementary school.

Television images show the plane ended up with its nose stuck into the grass at Villa de Paz Elementary School, just feet from a jungle gym and nearby classrooms. The pilot walked away and no one on the ground was injured.

The pilot had apparently been doing practice landings at a nearby airport at midmorning Wednesday when an unknown problem developed on the single-engine plane.
